Fragments of Being is a triptych series exploring the complexities of internal dialogue and self-perception. The central subject of the piece is a self-portrait, reflecting the artist’s experience as a young adult navigating the pressures of society, family, and personal growth. Each panel represents a distinct fragment of being, offering a glimpse into how familial influences and upbringing shape one’s identity and emotional landscape.
Fragments of Being I represents anxiety and societal pressure, evoking the emotional weight that comes from external expectations and inner conflict.
Through this work, Janessa Lyzette Ardon invites the viewer to explore the complex ways in which family dynamics, societal expectations, and personal experiences intertwine to influence our inner dialogue, and emotional states.
